The purpose of the contract is to set up and run a Business Growth Accelerator (BGA) in Ghana. The BGA will be a mentored facilitation service aiming to help the small agribusinesses partners of MADE (a market development programme in Northern Ghana) define the type of support and finance they need and then link them to the necessary providers. The end goal of this service is to help MADE partners grow their businesses and hence be a position to source more produce from the smallholder farmers supported by MADE in Northern Ghana. Commencing in April 2016, BGA will constitute a two year intervention under the MADE programme until MADE comes to an end in March 2018, by which time it is intended that it will have become commercially sustainable.
Consulting firms should have experience of providing support to MSMEs in Ghana. The particular focus will be on agribusinesses in Northern Ghana. Firms should have experience of mentoring and coaching and, if possible, of operating a diagnostic and signposting service. They need to be able to demonstrate that they have managed at least one large project (£300,000 equivalent or above). Firms are strongly advised to partner to meet these requirements.
