In a bid to get livestock farmers in northern Ghana to embrace the practice as a business from which they could earn regular substantial income to improve upon their livelihoods, MADE facilitated a media campaign on the sector in July, 2014.
The campaign which will be run over a one-year period covers animal husbandry issues that have to be addressed by livestock farmers during the early rainy season, late rainy and dry seasons.
The first part of the media campaign marking the early rainy season comprised of radio education programmes broadcast on GBC- URA Radio, Bolgatanga from 15th July to 2nd August, 2014 and on GBC- Radio Savannah, Tamale from 18th July to 3rd August, 2014. Programmes on URA Radio were broadcast in English, Kusaal, Kasem and Gurune while those on Radio Savannah were in English, Gonja and Dagbanli.
