Bayerijua Consult and Service

About

Bayerijua Consult and Service (BACOS) produces and aggregates agricultural commodities (maize, rice, pepper and soybean) from smallholder farmers for processing industries. It is an agribusiness that supports smallholder farmers through the out-grower model by providing agricultural input services, farm advisory services, mechanisation services, solar irrigation services and farmer cooperative produce marketing. BACOS was awarded a seed distribution van and three maize shellers by the International Fertilizer Development Centre under the Agricultural Technology Transfer Project in 2016. In 2019, one of its outgrowers won the District Best Farmer and the farmerbased organization with whom the company works won the Best Farmers Group. BACOS operates in seven districts in the Upper East Region and works with 3,000 smallholder farmers (of which 55% are women), with each farmer cultivating on average 2.5acres of land. It joined MADE in 2019 and in that year aggregated 5,840MT of maize and 6,710MT of rice.
